    Overview

Most newsletters” provide little in the way of real news. Not NEIWPCC’s Interstate Water Report. With its emphasis on in-depth articles featuring original NEIWPCC reporting, IWR is unique in the region, providing timely, comprehensive coverage and analysis of the water and wastewater issues that matter to our member states.

Each issue of IWR is carefully designed to appeal to a wide range of readers. Whether you work in the water arena or simply have an interest in it, IWR will broaden and deepen your understanding of the existing and emerging challenges in our region. The Winter 2007 issue, for example, featured a special report on desalination and the growing interest in it in our member states. The article examined all aspects of the issue—the environmental concerns about desalination, the economic costs, the regulatory questions—while telling the tale of the desalination plant under construction in Dighton, Mass. Each IWR also includes regular features such as “LegalLines,” a review of significant water-related legal developments, and “Tech Focus,” which looks at innovative technologies in water pollution control.

Written and edited entirely by NEIWPCC staff, IWR is funded by a grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Print issues are distributed free of charge to subscribers; free online access to the current and all past issues is also provided. To subscribe to the print edition, contact NEIWPCC at 978-323-7929 or fill out and return the subscription form included in each issue. Printed copies of past issues can also be obtained by contacting NEIWPCC.

Article submissions and questions or comments are welcome and appreciated. Please send material to Stephen Hochbrunn, IWR Editor.
