Partnerships | Hudson River Estuary Program (HREP)

Since 1999, NEIWPCC has maintained a partnership with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's Hudson River Estuary Program (HREP). The program coordinatesNew York's efforts to protect and restore the Hudson's estuary--the famous river's most familiar part, running from Albany to New York City. NEIWPCC provides HREP with funding and staff, which helps the program conduct and support a wide variety of efforts, including an annual spawning stock survey and a project that's using sophisticated technology to map the estuary's floor. Through our partnership with HREP, we also support publication of the popular Hudson River Almanac as well as educational programs conducted by the Eagle Institute.
